In an ever-growing forest of West Loop cranes, the 15-story condominium development known as Embry has now installed its own tower crane at 21 N May Street. Sulo Development is behind the project, with plans for 58 total residences, scaling from two- to four-bedroom floor plans and ranging in size between 1,828 and 5,187 square feet.
Window installation work is wrapping up for the nine-story mixed-use building known as Platform 4611, located at 4611 N Broadway in Uptown. The topped-out, 103-foot-tall project is being developed in partnership between John Buck Company and Free Market Ventures, who have planned for 12,000 square feet of retail and 200 rental apartments above.
Exterior work has now reached the sixth floor for a 10-story mixed-use building in Bronzeville known as 43Green. Bordering the intersection of Calumet & 43rd Street under the address 4308 S Calumet Avenue, this 96,000 square-foot project is easily one of the neighborhood’s largest new construction projects. Developers P3 Markets and The Habitat Company have scoped out 99 for-rent apartment units atop 5,000 square feet of ground-level retail.
As concrete and steel continue to rise, the podium is now taking shape for a planned 73-story residential tower known as 1000M, located at 1000 S Michigan Avenue in South Loop. At a revised height of 788 feet, the skyscraper is currently one of Chicago’s tallest active construction projects, helping to expand city’s skyline further south. After a 20-month stall, developer trio JK Equities, Time Equities, and Oak Capitals have updated their condominium plans to 738 rental units, ranging in size from studios up through three-bedrooms.
