1257 W Roosevelt Road Continues to Rise in Little Italy

Construction at 1257 W Roosevelt Road in Little Italy has now reached its fourth floor, with Related Midwest and the Chicago Housing Authority overseeing the development. The six-story mixed-use structure is part of the broader Roosevelt Square Phase 3B project, which includes three other buildings. This project offers a combination of homes, shops, and the soon-to-open National Museum of Public Housing. Once finished, Roosevelt Square will have 2,441 housing units for both single and multi-family living.

Full Permit Clears For 1323 S Ashland Avenue in Little Italy

Following a preliminary foundation and basement permit this past June, a full construction permit has been granted for a commercial building at 1323 S Ashland Avenue in Little Italy. The new structure will come with retail, offices, and a rooftop deck, spanning a total of 48,000 square feet. The project is currently under the development by 4S Bay Partners and was formerly the site of the St. Stephenson Missionary Baptist Church. The office units will cater predominantly to community service entities and nonprofit institutions.

Terracotta Exterior In full View at UIC Computer Design and Learning Center

The exterior facade work of the new Computer Design Research and Learning Center at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), located at 900 W Taylor Street in Little Italy, is nearing exterior completion. The five-story educational addition will seamlessly connect with the pre-existing Science and Engineering Labs building, further augmenting UIC’s capabilities in its computer science curriculum and associated research endeavors.
