One Chicago Approaching Full Height in River North

Construction has reached the 800-foot-tall mark for the east tower at One Chicago Square, a 2.2 million-square-foot megadevelopment in the northeast corner of River North. Planned by JDL and Sterling Bay, the project involves a pair of 49- and 74-story skyscrapers rising 574 and 971 feet in height, respectively, the latter of which will be Chicago’s eighth tallest building upon its completion.

Zoning Approved for Mixed-Use Development at 1623 N Halsted Street in Lincoln Park

The proposed zoning has been approved for a mixed-use, seven-story development at 1623 N Halsted Street on the border of Lincoln Park and Old Town. Located along N Halsted Street, the interior site is between W Concord Place and W Willow Street. The lot is directly north of the CTA Brown Line tracks and is a transit-served location. The immediate area consists of low-rise residential and mixed-use buildings, with a mix of office and restaurants at grade and residential units above. The new development will replace four existing buildings. JDL Development and Logan Ventures are in charge of the development.

Construction Reaches Halfway Mark for 971-Foot-Tall One Chicago Square in River North

One Chicago Square has surpassed the vertical halfway mark for both its 74- and 49-story towers. Developed by JDL, the mixed-use project will max out at 971 feet in height and make a substantial impact on the cityscape in the River North neighborhood. Since YIMBY’s last update in August, each tower has climbed about 13 floors, with the structurally completed floor count now around 41 and 28, respectively.

River North’s One Chicago Square is Now One-Third Complete

YIMBY checked on the construction of One Chicago Square, a 2.2 million-square-foot mixed-use development in River North. With the taller east tower reaching its 28th of 74 floors, and the shorter west tower reaching its 15th of 49 floors, both towers now stand close to their respective one-third marks. Additionally, the facade on the taller tower has been installed up to its 16th floor.
