Groundbreaking Held For Chicago Fire Facility In Near West Side

A groundbreaking has been held for the upcoming Chicago Fire FC facility at 1434 S Loomis Street in the Near West Side. Replacing a large majority of Addams/Medill Park which is mostly vacant land, the roughly 30-acre project will bring new life to the area on the former site of four CHA complexes demolished in 2007. The team itself is leading the development with Crawford Architects working on its design.

Plan Commission Approves Chicago Fire Facility In The Near West Side

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the new Chicago Fire FC facility at 1434 S Loomis Street in the Near West Side. Located within Addams/Medill Park, and bound by W Roosevelt Road and S Ashland Avenue, the new grounds will replace relatively empty land and bring new funds to adjoining affordable housing projects. The developer is the sports team itself which is collaborating with the city on acquiring the land, while local designers Crawford Architects are working on the new structures.

Updated Plans Revealed For Chicago Fire Training Facility In Near West Side

Updated plans have been revealed to the community for a new sporting facility within Addams/Medill Park at 1434 S Loomis Street in the Near West Side. The park which is roughly bound by W Roosevelt Road, S Loomis Street, W 14th Street, and S Ashland Avenue is near the growing Illinois Medical District and has been host to major music festivals in the past. The project is being developed by the Chicago Fire Football Club with Crawford Architects working on its revised design.

Updated Plans Revealed For Chicago Fire Facility In The Near West Side

Updated plans have been revealed for an upcoming sporting facility for the Chicago Fire Football Club near 1459 W Roosevelt Road in the Near West Side. Replacing most of what is now Addams/Medill Park, the new project is being led in collaboration with the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) who is in charge of the Roosevelt Square masterplan the proposal would be a part of. Most of the new construction will be focused on the north-end of the park and help fund renovation for surrounding housing structures, as a way to help revitalize the area just south of the Illinois Medical District, our coverage on the initial announcement can be found here.
