DPD Announces Finalist For Central Manufacturing District Redevelopment In McKinley Park

The Chicago Department of Planning and Development has announced the three finalists for the redevelopment of the city-owned warehouse at 1769 W Pershing Road in McKinley Park. Located slightly west of the intersection with S Ashland Avenue, the Request For Proposal (RFP) called for applicants to imagine a new use for the easternmost structure of the historical Central Manufacturing District. The RFP also allowed for the applicants to include an adjacent one-story industrial building and parking lot as well.

Initial Funds Approved For mHUB Conversion Of 240 N Ashland Avenue In West Loop

The Chicago Community Development Commission has approved initial funds for the redevelopment of the structure at 240 N Ashland Avenue in the West Loop. Located on the southwest corner with W Fulton Street, the famed clocktower building has sat vacant for a few years and is being proposed to become the new home for local incubator mHUB. The non-profit company themselves is behind the efforts, and while no architect has been revealed for the project, a few renderings have also been revealed.

State Announces Sale Of Damen Silos In McKinley Park

New details have been revealed on the sale of the Damen Silos at 2900 S Damen Avenue in McKinley Park. Located on the northeast corner with W 29th Street along the Chicago River just north of the Stevenson Expressway, the long abandoned structures were put on sale earlier this year by the state in order to cut spending. The process which consisted of accepting various bids from local companies seems to have concluded with a winner being selected.

New Details Revealed On The Sale Of Damen Silos In McKinley Park

New details have been revealed for the future of the Damen Silos at 2900 S Damen Avenue in McKinley Park. Located on the Chicago River just north of the exit from the Stevenson Expressway, in a historically industrial area south of Pilsen. The state officially announced the sale of the long abandoned structures which they have owned since 1928 but closed after an explosion in 1977. The sale will consist mainly of a bidding period in which potential buyers will submit their offers for the site.
