Caisson equipment is amassing on the 1000 block of West Jackson Boulevard as the start of construction approaches for the newly named Julep West Loop residential tower. General contractor Skender, concrete contractor Adjustable Concrete, and the drill team from Stalworth Underground are filling the West Loop lot with caisson rigs and all manner of accoutrement in preparation for the 25-story, 380-unit development from Mavrek Development.
A caisson permit was issued by the City of Chicago on August 19 for the property addressed as 1022 West Jackson Boulevard in the West Loop. That allows Mavrek Development to begin construction on their 25-story apartment tower 1000 West Jackson. The caisson permit had been idling in the Chicago Data Portal since July 10, 2024, and it finally arrives with a reported cost just under $1 million. Skender will provide general contracting services, with Adjustable Concrete on board as the concrete contractor.
Two demolition permits for the 1000 block of West Jackson Boulevard in the West Loop were issued by the city of the first day of July. Those allow Mavrek Development to begin clearing a half-block swath of properties for their planned and approved 25-story residential tower at 1000-1022 West Jackson.

The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use development at 1016 W Jackson Boulevard in the West Loop. Located on the northwest corner with S Morgan Street, the proposal will replace a five-story office building and a two-story commercial building. Developer Mavrek Development has been leading the efforts with Eckenhoff Saunders serving as the architects.
