Funding And Land Sale Approved For Affordable Housing Development At 3401 W Ogden Avenue In North Lawndale

The Community Development Commission has approved funds and the land sale for a new mixed-use development at 3401 W Ogden Avenue in North Lawndale. Dubbed the Grace Manor Apartments, the new project on the corner of W Ogden Avenue and S Homan Avenue replaces a parking lot used by the nearby police station with a colorful new affordable housing structure. Co-developers East Lake Management and Jerusalem CDC tapped local architecture firm JGMA for the design of the low-rise hoping to help anchor a new wave of growth for the neighborhood.

City Council Approves Wellness Center At 2933 W Division Street In Humboldt Park

The Chicago City Council has approved a new wellness center at 2933 W Division Street in Humboldt Park. Located on the intersection with N Richmond Street and across the street from the neighborhood’s namesake park, the new facility will replace an empty lot and three-story residential building while utilizing the existing adjacent parking lot. Developer Humboldt Park Health recently received approval from the Chicago Plan Commission on the JGMA-designed structure.

Updates On City Casino Bids As Selection Looms

As the city progresses towards selecting a winner of the highly-scrutinized casino deal, more renderings and information have been revealed on the complexities of utilizing some of the city’s existing structures. The five bids submitted to the city last year span from near Goose Island to McCormick Place, come from three companies with hopes to create a gambling, dining, entertainment, and lodging destination that is unique to Chicago’s urban fabric. TIF Approved For Affordable Development At 1805 N Hamlin Avenue In Logan Square

The Community Development Commission has approved Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funds for a new residential development at 1805 N Hamlin Avenue in Logan Square. Dubbed ‘Encuentro Square’ or meet-up square, is being developed by the Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA) with Canopy Architecture and Site Design Group serving as the designers for the multi-building project that was announced last year.
