Updated Renderings Revealed For Two-Tower Office Development In West Loop Gate

Updated renderings have been revealed for the two-tower office development at 655 W Madison Street in West Loop Gate. Located just east of the Kennedy Expressway/I-90, the project plans to replace a large surface parking lot and joins various other proposals in the immediate area cashing in on their proximity to the Loop and West Loop. Chicago based developer the John Buck Company, who has managed the Willis tower in its past, is teaming up with local architecture firms HOK and JGMA on the design of the structure.

John Buck Company Proposes Two-Tower Office Development for 655 W Madison Street in West Loop Gate

The John Buck Company has proposed a major two-tower office development at 655 W Madison Street, set to replace a full-block surface parking lot in West Loop Gate. The development will be staggered, beginning with the taller of the two towers. This first tower will stand 36 stories and span 850,000 square feet. The subsequent shorter tower will encompass 650,000 square feet and link to the taller edifice via a shared five-story podium. In an emerging pattern of new West Loop green space, the podium will be topped by a sprawling one-acre urban park.

A nine-story mixed-use development, known as Platform 4611, can be seen approaching full height at 4611 N Broadway in Uptown. Co-developed by John Buck Company and Free Market Ventures, this 103-foot project stands at the intersection of Broadway & Wilson. Planned programming includes 12,000 square feet of first-floor retail, split into units between 1,628 and 2,178 square feet. Atop this mercantile component will be 200 for-rent apartment dwellings, ranging from single-bedroom up to three-bedroom residences.

Platform 4611 Mid-Rise Springs Up in Uptown

In Uptown, steel work can now be seen rising for a nine-story mixed-use building known as Platform 4611 at the corner of Broadway & Wilson. Under the address 4611 N Broadway, this roughly 150,000-square-foot development by John Buck Company and Free Market Ventures will offer ground-level commercial units between 1,628 and 2,178 square feet, as well as 200 apartments on the upper levels. This parcel was formerly occupied by a low-rise masonry commercial building that was demolished early last year.
