Final Proposals Revealed For DPD East Garfield Park RFQ

The Chicago Department of Planning and Development (DPD) has announced their three finalists for the East Garfield Park RFQ. Although the Request For Qualifications (RFQ) is made up of three sites, this first phase will focus on one site across the street from The Hatchery located at 3209 W Lake Street. Right on the intersection with N Kedzie Avenue, all proposals will defer the two remaining sites onto a future development phase.

Building Permits Issued For Invest South/West Project In Auburn Gresham

Building permits have been issued for one of the first group of buildings from the mayor’s Invest South/West initiative at 757 and 838 W 79th Street in Auburn Gresham. Located predominantly around the intersection with S Halsted Street, the two-structure project will replace two vacant lots, one of which has sat empty for over 10 years. Developer Evergreen Imagine is working with the award-winning local firm Ross Barney Architects and Nia Architects on the design.

A groundbreaking ceremony has been held for the mixed-use development at 757 and 838 W 79th Street in Auburn Gresham. The two-building project is located near the intersection with S Halsted Street and its construction is a major milestone as the first Invest South/West to come to fruition. Developers Evergreen Imagine were joined by the design team of Ross Barney Architects and Nia Architects along with other city representatives, including Mayor Lori Lightfoot, for the monumental moment.

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for a mixed-use development at 747 W 79th Street in Auburn Gresham. Located on the southeast corner with S Halsted Street, the new project replaces a vacant lot in an active retail corridor surrounded by various food shops and local businesses. As a part of the city’s popular Invest South/West initiative, developer Evergreen Imagine LLC is working with Ross Barney and Nia Architects on the design.
