Details have been revealed for a new field house at 10540 S Morgan Street in Washington Heights. Located within Jackie Robinson Park with its main entrance facing S Aberdeen Street, the new structure will replace a vacant one-story annex to Mount Vernon Elementary School. The project is being led by the Chicago Park District with local firm Booth Hansen working on its design.
Three of the existing walls of the historic Second Church of Christ Scientist in Lincoln Park are now being prepared for integration into a new six-story mixed-use structure at 2700 N Pine Grove Avenue. This project, a collaboration between Ogden Partners and Booth Hansen, aims to preserve a portion of the original Beaux-Arts facade designed by Solon S. Beman.
The mixed-use development at 1131-1135 W Winona Street in Uptown, known as ‘The Sally,’ is progressing with construction already completed for 1135 W Winona Street and facade work underway for 1131 W Winona Street. Developed by Cedar St. Companies, The Sally comprises two five-story buildings, collectively offering 180 units ranging in size from studios to two-bedroom configurations, including 37 affordable residences. This complex represents the second phase of ‘The Draper,’ the initial phase of which houses 342 units and is located just south at 5050 N Broadway.
The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is nearing the completion of its new Computer Design Research and Learning Center, located at 900 W Taylor Street in the Little Italy neighborhood. The center, a 135,000-square-foot facility, is designed to support UIC’s computer science education and research. This five-story building is an addition to the existing Science and Engineering Labs building, connecting old and new architectural elements.
