Demolition is mostly complete of the former Uncommon Ground restaurant at 1401 West Devon Avenue in Edgewater. That clears the way for a 12-unit residential development to begin construction. According to Block Club, demolition got started a few weeks ago; all that remains to be cleared from the site is a little bit of rubble, and there are some foundation remnants to be dug out.
Two residential units are being built in a new construction three-story building at 3252 North Racine Avenue in the Lake View neighborhood. Masonry work covers the exterior of the first floor as it reaches the underside of the second level.
The construction of the six-story mixed-use building at 613 N Ogden Avenue in the West Town area is progressing, with exterior work wrapping up and balcony installation underway. Urban Edge Group is overseeing both the development and construction of this project, known as ‘Ogden Haus’. Located adjacent to a similar six-story structure to the north, the building will accommodate nine condominium units above ground-level retail space and feature an 11-space garage equipped with an elevator for residence access.
Initial details have been revealed for a mixed-use development at 3202 N Racine Avenue in Lake View. Located on the northwest corner with W Belmont Avenue, the project will replace a BP gas station on the prominent intersection. The proposal is being led by developer Exemplary Builders who are working with Vari Architects on its design.
A construction permit has been issued for a new residential building at 1018 W Altgeld Street in Lincoln Park. The planned development will be three-story structure housing two residential units, complete with a basement level, a roof deck, rear 1st and 2nd-floor porches, rear three-story stairs, an elevated rear patio, and a rear two-car garage with a roof deck.
