Plan Commission Approves Mixed-Use Development At 6300 S Maryland Avenue in Woodlawn

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a mixed-use development at 6300 S Maryland Avenue in Woodlawn. Dubbed Park Station, the building will rise on a currently empty lot surrounded by various retail buildings, and bound by E 63rd Street to the north and S Maryland Avenue to the west. Designed by FitzGerald Associates, developers Michaels Developments and DL3 Realty aim to bring 58 residential units to the South Side neighborhood.

Plan Commission Approves Residential Development At 8535 W Higgins Road Near O’Hare Airport

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a residential development at 8535 W Higgins Road near O’Hare Airport. Bordered by W Higgins Road to the north and a Marriott Hotel to the south, the development will be a two-minute drive from the on ramp to I-90 and a 10-minute drive from O’hare. Developer GlenStar has been working with architect FitzGerald Associates to deliver 297 residential units in a multi-wing building.

Inspire West Town’s Core Reaches Full Height at 1140 W Erie Street

The two elevator and stair cores have now reached full height at Inspire West Town, hinting at the eight-story project’s future presence beside the Kennedy Expressway. Located at 1140 W Erie Street, the building is being developed by Bond Companies, and is set to include a mix of ground-level retail and 113 rental apartment units. A total of 23 affordable units will be provided under the affordable requirements ordinance, six of which will be on-site and the remaining 17 elsewhere in the vicinity.

Plan Commission Approves Mixed-Use Development at 1838 N Elston Avenue in Bucktown

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a mixed-use development at 1838 N Elston Avenue in Bucktown. Located on a midblock site, the property is bounded by a one-story commercial building to the north, N Elston Avenue to the east, a two-story commercial structure to the south, and N Besly Court to the west. The Lincoln Yards development is located across the street to the east, while the Kennedy Expressway is nearby to the west. The property currently holds a one-story commercial building. JAB Real Estate is the developer behind the proposal.
