Initial details have been revealed for a new cultural and community hub at 2905 West Madison Street in East Garfield Park. Located at the intersection with North Francisco Avenue, the center will replace a city-owned vacant lot as part of the city’s initiative to reinvest in the West Side. Three permits issued on December 30 by the City of Chicago allow a local developer to erect three-unit residential buildings in the East Garfield Park and North Lawndale Community Areas. A-Z Plus Remodeling, Inc of Austin is the owner and general contractor. All three of their permits came through with reported costs of $500,000 apiece, and all three projects will replace long-vacant lots.

Two Permits, Six Units For 2700 Block Of West Jackson Boulevard In East Garfield Park

A pair of new construction permits issued two days apart will allow six residential units on West Jackson Boulevard in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. Identical permits for 2744 and 2746 West Jackson were issued on November 24 and November 25 respectively. Each was applied for on September 12, and they both came through with reported costs of $450,000.
