A permit has been issued for the renovation and alteration of a three-story mixed-use building located at 3144 West Carroll Avenue in East Garfield Park. Planned work includes converting artist studios on the 2nd and 3rd floors into artist live/work units, which will involve adding new kitchens. A new sprinkler system for the building will also be installed as part of the project.
Fees for the permit total $11,665.00, with $375.00 paid so far and $11,290.00 remaining unpaid. Construction, which is being led by owner Carroll Street Properties, LLC, is expected to cost around $50,000. Plans were designed by architect Samuel Pavlovcik.
Transit nearby 3144 West Carroll Avenue includes train stations with service for the Metra UP West Line Train and the Green Line.
