Demolition is mostly complete of the former Uncommon Ground restaurant at 1401 West Devon Avenue in Edgewater. That clears the way for a 12-unit residential development to begin construction. According to Block Club, demolition got started a few weeks ago; all that remains to be cleared from the site is a little bit of rubble, and there’s some foundation remnants to be dug out.
A new construction permit has been issued for a mixed-use development at 6350 North Glenwood Avenue in Edgewater. The permit, which was granted after a standard plan review process that took 138 days, allows for the construction of a four-story building with 12 residential units and ground-floor retail space.
A new four-story, mixed-use building is set to rise at 6400 N Wayne Avenue in Rogers Park, with the project receiving a construction permit on May 2nd. The development will feature ground-level retail space and 10 dwelling units on the above floors. The filing owner of the project is Variable Properties LLC – 1355 Series, whose plans will be replacing a parking lot along the cross street of Devon Avenue.
Construction permits have been issued for a new three-story residential building at 4906 N Kenmore Avenue in Uptown. The owner, Variable Properties LLC, plans to replace a currently vacant lot with a seven-unit building and two detached garages.
Permits were issued on Friday for the construction of a new four-story mixed-use construction located at 6355 N Glenwood Avenue in the Edgewater neighborhood. The permit’s owners have been listed as Variable Properties LLC and plans indicate there will be retail on the first floor, and six total units spread across the second through fourth floors. While no reference is made to on-site parking, the permit indicates there will be an elevator installed as well as a masonry trash enclosure.
