The final steel pieces are being added to Salesforce Tower Chicago, rising 60 stories at 333 W Wolf Point Plaza in River North. This 850-foot-tall skyscraper is the final, and tallest, staple in Hines‘ three-part masterplan known as Wolf Point. With more than a third of its floor area anchored by the tech giant Salesforce, the 1.4 million-square-foot edifice will house primarily offices, below which will be retail and dining within its base.

This week, the concrete core for Chicago’s Salesforce Tower reached its full height, marking a key milestone for the 60-story skyscraper rising at 333 W Wolf Point Plaza along the confluence of the Chicago River. As noted in a LinkedIn post by the general contractor Walsh Construction, the final height of the core stands 840 feet, falling in line with recent speculation of a 15-foot height bump. Furthermore, it appears that the final architectural height of the edifice will now be 850 feet above the river walk, once the superstructure is accounted for.

Salesforce Tower Nears Full Height as Countdown’s Third-Place Construction Project

At the confluence of the Chicago River, a 60-story office tower nears its full height. Salesforce Tower, the third tallest construction project in Chicago YIMBY’s year-end countdown, will eventually stand 835 feet above the river bank once it completes in 2023. Located at 333 W Wolf Point Plaza, the skyscraper will serve as the third and final addition to the Wolf Point masterplan in River North. This larger scheme is the site of a long-undeveloped parking lot that is owned by the Joseph P. Kennedy Family. Together with developer Hines, the two parties have planned three edifices on this parcel, just in front of the former Chicago Sun Times building.

Salesforce Tower Chicago Eclipses Neighboring Wolf Point East Skyscraper

It’s official: Salesforce Tower Chicago is now the tallest in Hines‘ three-tower Wolf Point megadevelopment. The core of this 60-story mixed-use building now stands at roughly 740 feet, having surpassed the neighboring 679-foot-tall Wolf Point East in recent weeks. Addressed as 333 W Wolf Point Plaza, this rapidly ascending structure marks the larger development’s final stage, following the completion of the aforementioned Wolf Point East in 2020 and the third, 500-foot-tall Wolf Point West in 2016. The current construction’s final height will reach 835 feet above the river walk and 813 feet above street level, making a topping out likely for within the coming months.

The concrete core for Salesforce Tower Chicago is now at roughly the two-thirds height mark, set to rise 60 stories at the southwest tip of River North. The 1.2 million-square-foot skyscraper at 333 W Wolf Point Plaza is the final staple in a three-building masterplan known as Wolf Point, developed by Hines and in partnership with the Joseph P. Kennedy Family. The Wolf Point parcel is just under three acres, occupying an outcrop that borders the confluence of the Chicago River. This land has served a swath of purposes since the first settling of Chicago, ranging from a parking lot prior to the current development all the way back to the site of the city’s first tavern.
