Initial Details Revealed For Mixed-Use Development At 6300 S Cottage Grove Avenue In Woodlawn

Initial plans have been revealed for a mixed-use development within the walls of the existing Washington Park National Bank building at 6300 S Cottage Grove Avenue in Woodlawn. Located on the southwest corner with E 63rd Street directly adjacent to the CTA Green Line terminal station, the historical structure has fallen into deep disrepair from years of sitting vacant. Developers DL3 Realty have owned the site for various years with their precious plans being proposed prior to the pandemic and having since changed, although local firm bKL Architecture remains as the project’s designer.

City Unveils Finalists for C40 Reinventing Cities Competition for Site in The Loop

The City of Chicago has unveiled the four finalist proposals for the C40 Reinventing Cities competition, planned for a city-owned site in The Loop. Located at 331 S Plymouth Court, the project site consists of a city-owned parking garage and a series of smaller parcels on the western edge of Pritzker Park. Bound by S Plymouth Court and W Van Buren Street, the rectangular parcel also has an alley running through that will be vacated.

Community Development Commission Approves Friend Health Medical Campus Project in Woodlawn

The Community Development Commission has approved the proposed Friend Health Medical Campus project. Located at 6250 S Cottage Grove Avenue in Woodlawn, the project will span two adjacent sites, located at the intersection of E 63rd Street and S Cottage Grove Avenue. The Cottage Grove CTA L station, serviced by the Green Line, is accessed directly adjacent to the site. The 4 and 63 CTA bus routes also stop at the intersection of E 63rd Street and S Cottage Grove Avenue, giving direct access to the site. Friend Health Center and DL3 Realty are collaborating on the development.
