Permits Issued for 4259 S Wells Street in Fuller Park

Construction permits have been issued for a single-story car wash facility at 4259 S Wells Street in Fuller Park. The owner is Chicago Title Land Trust, whose new commercial development lies on a plot of land that was re-zoned in 2013 from B3-1 Community Shopping Zoning District to Cl-1 Neighborhood Commercial Zoning District. YIMBY covered a planned two-story mixed-used building last week that also resides on this re-designated area.

Ronald Vari of Vari Architects is the architect of record. No drawings or renderings for the facility have been published, but multiple masonry contractors may indicate a brick exterior, similar to those of the surrounding buildings.

The site lies a block west of the on- and off-ramps for the I-90 Express. Public transportation in the area includes bus stops for both Routes 24 and 43, located a minute walk east to Wentworth & 43rd Street. Additional routes include 29 an eight-minute walk east to State & 43rd Street, 39 a 10-minute walk north to Pershing & Wentworth, and 47 a 12-minute walk south to 47th Street & Princeton. For the CTA L, the Red Line at the 47th Avenue station can be found via a 13-minute walk south, while the Green Line’s 43rd station is a 15-minute walk east.

Fix You Up Contracting Inc. is the general contractor behind the $263,000 construction. An anticipated completion date is not yet known.
