The design review and approval process for Chicago’s largest construction projects will be enhanced and streamlined through this volunteer Committee on Design consisting of the city’s top urban design professionals, according to DPD commissioner Maurice Cox.

City Selects Assemble Chicago as Winner of C40 Reinventing Cities Competition for Site in The Loop

The City of Chicago has selected Assemble Chicago as the winner of the C40 Reinventing Cities competition, planned for a city-owned site in The Loop. Located at 331 S Plymouth Court, the project site consists of a city-owned parking garage and a series of smaller parcels on the western edge of Pritzker Park. Bound by S Plymouth Court and W Van Buren Street, the rectangular parcel also has an alley running through that will be vacated.

Chicago Plan Commission Approves Update to Fulton Market Innovation District Plan

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the updates to the Fulton Market Innovation District (FMID) plan. Implemented to guide the future growth of the neighborhood, the plan will govern the area bounded by W Hubbard Street to the north, W Randolph Street to the south, N Halsted Street to the east, and N Ogden Avenue to the west. This newly approved plan will supersede the original plan adopted in 2014.
