The new Computer Design Research and Learning Center at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), situated at 900 W Taylor Street in Little Italy, is rapidly approaching exterior completion. This five-story extension will be linked to the existing Science and Engineering Labs building, expanding UIC’s capacity for its computer science program, as well as related research and projects.
Foundation work is progressing for the University of Illinois Chicago’s new computer science building, set to rise five stories at 900 W Taylor Street in Little Italy. Known as the Computer Design Research and Learning Center, this five-story structure will attach to UIC’s existing Science and Engineering Labs building while adding 135,000 square feet of new programming.
Facade work is now in full swing for the University of Illinois’ Outpatient Surgery Center & Specialty Clinics, a six-story addition to UI Health‘s hospital campus in the Illinois Medical District.
Earlier this month, a ceremonial groundbreaking was held for a planned five-story educational building, located at 900 W Taylor Street at The University of Illinois Chicago‘s main campus. Officially known as the UIC Computer Design, Research and Learning Center, the project’s footprint will replace a former parking lot, while attaching to the existing Engineering Research Facility. At 135,000 square feet, this new addition will provide students and faculty with 15 classrooms, 35 labs, and supplementary spaces such as student affairs offices and an undergraduate learning and community center.
Construction has topped out at six floors for University of Illinois’ Outpatient Surgery Center & Specialty Clinics, located in the Illinois Medical District.
