Permits Issued for 4635 S Indiana Avenue in Bronzeville

Construction permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at Bronzeville’s 4635 S Indiana Avenue. Filed under the owner Jacek Bochaczyk, the three-unit project will come with a rear open deck spanning its full height. As of now, the site is occupied by a vacant grass plot that lies just north of the intersection between Indiana Avenue and 47th Street Station.

Ana Wolfe of ASWolfe Design is serving as architect of record. No drawings or renderings have been made available, though the filing description indicates a frame design.

Given its absence from the filing description, no on-site parking appears to be planned. However, future residents will find stops for Route 47, located just paces south to the Indiana & 47th Street intersection. Slightly further via a seven-minute walk west are additional stops for Route 29 at the intersection of State & 47th Street. CTA L service, meanwhile, consists of the Green Line’s 47th station, a four-minute walk southeast. Those looking to board the Red Line will find the other 47th station situated a 13-minute walk west.

Outdoor spaces in the vicinity consist of Harding Park via a nine-minute southeast and the nine-acre Robert Taylor Park via a nine-minute walk southwest. The relatively large Robert Taylor Park includes a recreation center, a playground, a pool, and various sports courts.

Best Art Construction will carry out the $225,000 build, whose full completion timeline has not been announced.
