Since our last update, the two-story retail development at 113 E Oak Street in Near North Side has completed construction. Spanning 5,050 square feet, the new building was developed by 113 E Oak Street LLC with an equal distribution of space between its two floors. The first and second floors offer approximately 2,600 and 2,500 square feet, respectively.
The building, designed by Ware Malcomb, features a light gray brick facade and large street-facing windows. There’s also potential for custom signage atop the building for future occupants.
The location is near several transportation options, including the CTA bus Route 151 at the nearby Michigan & Oak Street intersection. Other buses for Routes 143, 146, 147, and 148 are available within a block. The CTA L’s Red Line station is a nine-minute walk to the southwest.
Summit Design + Build was the primary contractor for this development. With a construction cost of $1.5 million, the commercial space in the building is now available for lease, with more information available via CBRE.

Well it looks awful. And they tore down a vintage building for it. Classic Chicago
Nothing Lasts Forever, i liked the old building better
There were cracks in the facade of the old building. I wonder if it had structural issues.
Nah they just wanted larger display windows and HVAC air con for the workers.
HORRIBLE – who allowed this on Oak Street?!?!
