New Permits Issued for 534 E 38th Street in Bronzeville

534 E 38th Street

Permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at 534 E 38th Street in the Bronzeville neighborhood. The parcel in question is part of the larger phase three development from Oakwood Shores LLC.

Designed by Brook Architecture, this next phase of the development includes a multi-family building with a masonry facade and 21 residential units. There will also be a paved lot on site that will afford 17 parking spots.

Future residents will find bus service for Routes 3 at King Drive & 38th Street via a four-minute walk west. The CTA Green Line can also be accessed nearby at the Indiana station via a 13-minute walk southwest. There are many retail, dining, and entertainment options in the vicinity, many of which are located within walking distance along S Martin Luther King Drive.

Powers & Sons Construction will act as the general contractor for the $6.3 million construction. The project was originally forecast for completion by January 2023 but that remains to be seen.
