Funding Secured For National Public Housing Museum In Near West Side

New funding has been secured for the National Public Housing Museum at 925 S Ada Street in the Near West Side. The project is part of the greater Roosevelt Square Plan which includes various residential developments led by Related Midwest and the Chicago Housing Authority. The museum itself will be one of the first of its kind and occupy around 2/3rds of a larger shared building with 15 residential units. The funds will help kick-start construction on the proposal designed by the Chicago based firms of HED Architects and Landon Bone Baker Architects.

The Chicago City Council has approved the financing and land-sale for the Roosevelt Square Phase 3B mixed-use development in the Near West Side. Located across multiple parcels mainly around W Taylor Street and W Roosevelt Road, the project is part of the greater Roosevelt Square Plan that includes the rehabilitation of existing apartments, construction of new housing, and a new National Public Housing Museum. The effort is being led by Related Midwest and the Chicago Housing Authority along with various local design firms.

Chicago City Council has approved the Roosevelt Square Phase 3B Development located in the Near West Side. Located as part of the larger Roosevelt Square plan, the project is part of the redevelopment of the former CHA ABLA Homes. Spread across four parcels, the sites include 1002 Racine Avenue, 1257 W Roosevelt Road, 1357 W Roosevelt Road, and 925 S Ada Street. Related Midwest is the developer behind the entire plan, partnering with the Chicago Housing Authority.
