Additional Funding Announced For O’Hare Terminal 3 Renovation

An additional $40 million in funding has been announced for the upcoming renovation of Terminal 3 at O’Hare International Airport. We previously covered the renovation nearly a year ago when it originally received $50 million from the 2021 infrastructure bill. Now further dollars have been awarded to the project led by the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) with an undisclosed set of designers and engineers.

New funding has been announced for a major renovation of Terminal 3 at O’Hare International Airport. The work will help upgrade one of the busiest terminals at the airport with much needed improvements as the whole airfield moves towards the upcoming Terminal 2 expansion, and as Terminal 5 concludes its own multi-million dollar extension. The airport itself and its governing body, the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA), are behind the work with an undisclosed architecture firm coordinating the design.

Now a new set of concourses and terminal have received the green light and completion dates as a culmination of a modernization project that began nearly 16 years ago led by the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA).
