Caisson, Full Building Permits Issued For 5853 North Broadway In Edgewater

Over the span of two days, a caisson permit and a full building permit were issued to begin construction at 5853 North Broadway in Edgewater. The first task to complete will be the demolition of the single-story structure used by the Department of Streets & Sanitation on the site. Lack of a demo permit may curtail plans for a bit, but many of those simply aren’t visible anymore in the Chicago Data Portal, so this one might be waiting and ready to bust out any day now.

Affordable Development Moves Forward In Edgewater

Plans for an upcoming residential development at 5854 North Broadway are moving forward after receiving funding approval from the Chicago City Council. Located mid-block between West Thorndale Avenue and West Ardmore Avenue in Edgewater, the project has been in the works for over three years and is set to replace a one-story building and its parking lot.

Edgewater Affordable Development Approved By City Council

The Chicago City Council has approved an affordable housing development at 5853 N Broadway in Edgewater. Located near the intersection with W Thorndale Avenue, the project was first unveiled nearly three years ago and has undergone multiple rounds of community input. It received Plan Commission approval just a few weeks ago.
