Construction Permit Issued For 78 Units At Larrabee And Oak Streets In Near North Side

A permit issued by the City of Chicago on March 18 allows construction to begin on a seven-story, 78-unit residential development at Oak and Larrabee Streets in Near North Side. Proposed as 547 West Oak Street, the permit uses the address of 955 North Larrabee. It came through with a reported cost of $36,887,188 following its application date of  November 20, 2023, a processing time of 849 days. The all-in-one full building permit includes concrete piles for the structure’s foundation.

Additional Funding And Timeline Announced For 547 W Oak Street In Near North Side

Additional financing has been approved for the residential development at 547 W Oak Street in the Near North Side. Located on the intersection with N Larrabee Street, the proposal is the first phase of redeveloping a long-term vacant lot owned by the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA). The project is being led by developer BDM-I LLC made up of Brinshore & The Michaels Development Corporation.

Zoning Approved For Residential Development At 547 W Oak Street In Near North Side

The Chicago Committee on Zoning has approved rezoning for a new residential development at 547 W Oak Street in Near North Side. Developer Brinshore-Michaels Development, LLC is teaming up with Pappageorge Haymes Architects to bring a new apartment building to an empty lot at the corner of W Oak Street and N Larrabee Street. Located on the south end of the former Cabrini-Green area, the project will benefit from being located near the new Halsted Pointe development and Sterling Bay’s recently renovated 600 West Chicago Avenue.
