A permit was approved earlier this week for a new three-story residential building at 643 East 50th Street in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood. Red Van Construction Inc is listed as the owner and plans indicate this project is a frame structure and will yield three total units, each with rear open wooden porches. The development will replace a vacant lot.
Alexander Polichuk is listed as the architect of record for this project. While there aren’t any further details available at this time, the permit does indicate the presence of masonry contractors.
Transportation is readily available with the nearest bus service available for Route 4 at the Cottage Grove & 50th Street stop via a four-minute walk east. The CTA Green Line can also be accessed the 51st station via an 11-minute walk west. There are many retail, dining, and lodging options in the vicinity, many of which are located within walking distance along 50th Street.
Keaney Construction, Inc will act as the general contractor for the $490,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
