Permits were approved this week for a new commercial gas station at 735 W Division Street in Near North Side, Chicago. Located at the intersection of N Halsted Street and W Division Street, the corner lot is six blocks south of the North/Clybourn CTA L station, serviced by the Red Line. 735 W. Division, LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications, reporting $380,000 as the cost for the overall development.
The proposed development will consist of a one-story retail convenience store with a drive-through facility. The 22,000-square-foot property will feature multiple distribution pumps, as well a 5,100-square-foot multi-functional building.
Vari Ronald of Vari Architects is listed as the architect of record. D.O.M. Properties Investment is listed as the general contractor on the project.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

I can’t believe the city approved this. This should be some type of TOD development — it’s right on top of two major bus lines and in close proximity to downtown and other desirable areas. The suburbanization of Chicago continues.
