Framing work has begun for the first row of townhomes on Cambridge Avenue in Lincoln Park, site of the former Cenacle Retreat & Conference Center. Addressed as 2329 North Cambridge Avenue, the row of homes extends off a C-shaped portion of the street connected to Belden Avenue, a portion that could be mistaken for an alley. The first set of eight townhomes was permitted on April 2nd, two days before the permit for 2333 North Cambridge came through.

MC Construction Group is the general contractor for developer Ogden Partners, working with designs by Booth Hansen. As of late May, the “shallow footings” described in the permit have been laid, and framing work has started for the first eight townhomes. Seven of those homes are oriented east and west, with the eighth and southernmost unit turned 90 degrees from the others.

The Cenacle Retreat & Conference Center was demolished in summer 2022 for redevelopment. The townhomes are the third residential project underway here. At 519 West Fullerton, the first of two eight-unit condominium buildings is being constructed for the Fullerton Pointe development. Over on the east side of the parcel, work continues on a large, 4,700-square-foot single-family dwelling at 2338 North Cleveland Avenue.
