A three-story with basement, five-unit residential building at 3036 North Sheffield Avenue is showing above street level in the Lake View neighborhood. Summerhill Construction is erecting the development here after taking down a multi-unit residence at 3034 North Sheffield, and a coach house at 3038 North Sheffield in the fall.

Designed by Michael Cox & Associates, the new building includes a rear stairway that will connect outdoor decks on all three levels, and a detached five-car garage off the alley that will be topped by a roof deck.

3036 North Sheffield is located one block from the Wellington Brown/Purple Line elevated platform, and two blocks from the Belmont Red/Brown/Purple Line station. The CTA’s Route 77 bus makes stops two blocks north on Belmont Avenue, and a three-block walk east leads to Routes 8 and 22 stops at Halsted and Clark Streets.
Below are photos of construction progress just before Christmas.
