With its masonry walls now complete, the two-story 113 E Oak Street is currently awaiting window installation near Magnificent Mile in Near North Side. This 5,050-square-foot retail structure developed by 113 E Oak Street LLC will be equally divided in space between the two floors.
The design by Ware Malcomb is made up of a rectangular massing with gray brick and expansive street-facing windows. Renderings show prominent signage at the top of the structure, though no further details regarding the future tenant(s) have been revealed.
The site is located amongst several nearby transit options, particularly the CTA bus for Route 151 at the adjacent Michigan & Oak street intersection. Other nearby buses can be found for Routes 143, 146, 147, and 148 all within a single block. Shoppers and tenants looking to board the CTA L will find the Red Line at Chicago station, via a nine-minute walk southwest.
The general contractor working on this boutique project is Summit Design + Build. With a reported construction cost of $1.5 million, completion is expected for later this year.

How has it taken this long to put such a basic, terrible design together?
Lol at it taking the end of the year to finish this. This is a 2 story retail building. Should be finished by August at the latest.
It should have been a lot cheeper. The had out of State people working there for less than half of the regular construction wages. Shame on them.
