Construction permits have been issued for a three-story residential building located at 6622 S University Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood. YIMBY reported on an adjacent permit for 6620 S University Avenue late last month, filed under the same owner Jack Properties LLC. The developer is planning three total units for the current building, as well as a rear steel open porch and a three-car concrete pad.

The two sites also share the same architect of record Charles E. Schwartz. No drawings or renderings have been revealed for either address, though both descriptions have indicated masonry structures.
Residents will find multiple bus routes nearby, including east and westbound stops for Routes 5, 67, and 95, which can be found at the 67th & Minerva intersection via a three-minute walk southeast. Additional service is available for Route 4, which can be found via a nine-minute walk west at Cottage Grove & Marquette Rd. Lastly, stops for Route 63 bus are available along 63rd street, a 10-minute walk north.
As far as the CTA L, nearest Green Line availability is at Cottage Grove station, a 16-minute walk northwest.
Outdoor space comprises of the 65th & Woodlawn Community Garden, Flying Squirrel Park, and Boswell (Arnita Young) Park. The larger Jackson Park is also further to the east near the Lake Shore.
As with 6620 S University Avenue, Crown Construction Company is serving as the general contractor for the $350,000 project. A full completion timeline is not yet known.
