Permits have been issued for a three-story residential building located at 6349 S Maryland Avenue in Woodlawn. The owner, filed under Jack Properties LLC, has planned three total units, an open rear steel porch and stair configuration, and a three-car parking pad.
Charles E. Schwartz is the project’s architect of record. While no renderings have yet been revealed, the filing description has indicated that the structure will have a masonry design.
For nearest transit, residents will have access to bus Route 4, which is available at Cottage Grove & 64th Street a two-minute walk west. Additional bus service consists of the Route 63 bus, located at the 63rd & Drexel intersection a two-minute walk north. Residents will also find the Green Line’s Cottage Grove station in close proximity, located a three-minute walk northwest.
A variety of outdoor spaces are within walking distance, including Prairie Wolf Park, Mamie Till-Mobley Park, 65th & Woodlawn Community Garden, and the vast 346-acre Washington Park slightly further to the northwest. Additional points of interest include the Coleman Branch Public Library a five-minute walk northwest, as well as the joint Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School/Hyde Park Day School a five-minute walk northeast.
Crown Construction Company is serving as general contractor for the $350,000 development. A full timeline and completion date have not yet been revealed.
