Updated plans have been approved for the mixed-use redevelopment of 2222 S Michigan Avenue within Motor Row District. Sitting near the intersection with E Cermak Road, we last covered the project mid-2023 when it was set to become co-living units. Now, plans have pivoted with the same development team led by Hudson Michigan Avenue LLC. No new renderings or plans have been revealed, the images in this article are from its previous iteration.

Funding Partially Approved For Motor Row Redevelopment

Funding has been partially approved for the mixed-use redevelopment of 2222 S Michigan Avenue within the Motor Row District. Located a few buildings south from the intersection with E Cermak Road, the project will restore the existing block-deep building while giving it a new program as the area near McCormick Place continues to see a rebound from 2020. Developer Hudson Michigan Avenue LLC is behind the proposal along with local-design firm FitzGerald.

Plans Approved For 2222 S Michigan Avenue In Motor Row

The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use redevelopment of 2222 S Michigan Avenue in the Motor Row District. Located just south of the intersection with E Cermak Road, the development will renovate an existing slim building that runs the full-length of the block to S Wabash Avenue. The team behind the work is developer Hudson Michigan Avenue LLC who has tapped local design firm FitzGerald and RTM Engineering Consultants on the project which will be called Hudson Motor Row.
