Construction permits have been issued for a three-story residential building set for 1710 S Jefferson Street in the East Pilsen neighborhood. Planned by Padriak Buckley, the building will include two total units, a basement, a private roof deck, and a detached two-car garage with a separate roof deck. The new construction is set to replace a currently vacant grass lot.
Christopher Boehm is the listed architect of record. While no drawings or renderings have yet been revealed, the filing description has confirmed a masonry design.
The property lies within a minute’s walk north to Jefferson Park, which contains open grass space and a playground. Transportation will comprise of Routes 8, 18, and 62 located roughly a seven-minute walk southwest to 18th Street & Halsted. Route 21 is also accessible within a 10-minute walk, with stops at the Cermak & Lumber intersection via a nine-minute walk south.
Future residents looking to board the CTA L will have available service for the Red Line at Cermak-Chinatown station, a 17-minute walk southeast. The next closest station is the Orange Line at Halsted station via a 20-minute walk southwest.
Cill Dara Construction is the general contractor for the $603,200 project. A full construction timeline is not yet known.
