Exterior Progress For Sarah’s On Lakeside Brings Supportive Housing Project Into Focus

Rendering of Sarah's on Lakeside by Perkins&Will

We have a much better look at the finished product of Sarah’s On Lakeside will look like, as exterior work continues at the Uptown development. This third edition of housing from Sarah’s Circle was expected to open this fall; it is unclear if that schedule will be met, but the building has come a long way.

Perkins&Will is the architect for the project, and Power & Sons Construction is on the build. Ground was broken in June of 2023; the projected opening is this fall. Located at 4737 North Sheridan Road, Sarah’s On Lakeside will deliver 28 units of supportive housing to the neighborhood, providing shelter for women who have been experiencing homelessness. Sarah’s Circle will have a total of 181 such units when this project is completed.

Residents of Sarah’s On Lakeside will be within one block of stops for Routes 81 and 151 buses, while the 136, 146, and 148 buses stop at Lawrence and Marine Drive, about half a mile to the east. Upon completion of station renovation, the Lawrence Red Line platform is a three-block walk to the west.

  1. I think it actually looks better in real life than the renderings. A bit more texture (if not articulation) in the actual building.
