The construction of The Couture, a 44-story mixed-use skyscraper at 909 E Michigan Street in Milwaukee, has nearly reached its full height. Barrett Lo Visionary Development oversees this project, which will stand at 507 feet on completion, making it Wisconsin’s fourth tallest building and its highest primarily residential structure.

The Couture will offer 322 residential units in various configurations, including studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, and two rooftop loft penthouses. There will be a total of 15 unique floor plan layouts.

The development’s base houses extensive commercial space, including 50,000 square feet of retail space. This three-story section will accommodate a grocery store and around 10,000 square feet of restaurant space with outdoor seating.

RINKA’s design for The Couture features an elliptical shape with a glass curtain wall and white metal paneling. The building includes various amenities such as an outdoor deck and pool, a rooftop deck, secured dog walk areas, public plazas, parks, pedestrian bridges, and 1,100 parking spaces. Additionally, it hosts a two-story transit center that incorporates a station for the expanded The Hop streetcar, marked by a 148-foot-long curved LED wall.

It might be a newsflash, but this site has been showing articles from Michigan City, Gary, Milwaukee, Kenosha, and I am sure a couple of others if deemed relevant to the Chicago Area for a while.
Okay, but chicago yimby only gets 3 articles a day, and its been 2 days straight of milwaukee being the main headliner. it really just shows the lack of construction in this city
Two days straight… Absolutely comical! Our writer took a trip to Milwaukee. No kidding, they’ll have consecutive updates.
So, two articles out of x many for the past year. The last update from WI was in August 2023; this tower was last reported in September 2022. In a brisk search, there have to be fewer than ten articles since 2021.

Nothing wrong with showing the construction in other cities. I wish to see some of Detroit as the city is attempting a comeback with new developments.
Maybe it at least reflects that construction costs, including the cost of borrowing money, is a lot higher…don’t worry, there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with Chicago.
