A construction permit has been granted for a new three-story residential development located at 2046 W Washington Boulevard in Near West Side. The project will come with three units in total and come with a basement level. This development will replace what is currently a vacant lot. Washington Owner LLC is the owner of the upcoming project.
The design is by Laszlo Simovic. Based on the permit details, the development will also include a 5-foot wood and iron fence, a designated trash enclosure areax, and a rear parking pad that can accommodate up to three vehicles.
Closest transit in the vicinity includes Route 50 less than a one-minute east walk from the site. Other nearby transit includes Route 49 to the west, Route 20 to the southeast, and Route 126 to the south. The CTA Blue Line is available at the Illinois Medical District station, a 14-minute walk southeast, as well as the Green and Pink Lines’ Ashland Station, a 16-minute walk east.
G Corp is the general contractor overseeing the construction. The reported construction cost is approximately $720,600. As of this update, there is no information available regarding the expected completion date.

It’s good to see some new investment in this area. The United Center was kind of the end of the West Loop investment. Hopefully, this is the beginning of new housing and residents coming further west.
