A construction permit has been granted for a new residential development situated at 1414 E 65th Place in Woodlawn. Following the permit approval for a similar building acrosss the street by the same developer, DOM Properties, this upcoming project will feature a three-story structure with a basement, hosting five dwelling units. This new structure will stand in place of what was formerly an unoccupied lot.

Taking charge on the building’s design is Andy Kacprzynski. Building features for the brick structure include five parking spaces, a masonry trash enclosure, six-foot wood and four-foot iron fencing, and a top stairs enclosure.

In terms of transportation, the location offers residents access to a variety of CTA buses for Routes 5, 28, 63, 67, and 95, in addition to Metra lines available at 63rd Street.

DOM Properties will be overseeing the construction as the general contractor. The project’s reported construction budget stands at $1,000,000. As of the moment, there has been no official word on the anticipated completion date.

  1. It’s good to see this area attract more investment. This part of Woodlawn seems to have been slower to redevelop than other parts closer to U Chicago.
