Embry, a 16-story condominium tower situated in the West Loop at 21 N May Street, is nearing the completion of its facade work. Sulo Development is behind the new residential high-rise, which will accommodate 58 residential spaces with sizes varying from 1,828 to 5,200 square feet. The design includes two-, three-, and four-bedroom unit configurations.

There will be two 5,200 square-foot penthouse suites, costing just under $8 million and accompanied by 2,000-square-foot outdoor terraces and individual swimming pools. There will also be duplex options, featuring bedrooms on the building’s second level and living areas on the third.

The interiors, curated by KARA MANN, will come with features such as varying paint colors, wood accents, broad wood plank floors, Atelier Jouvence-crafted fireplaces, arch-styled doorways, lofty ceilings, and extrawide hallways. Kitchens will be equipped with appliances sourced from brands such as Miele, Subzero, and Wolf.

Lamar Johnson Collaborative has designed the building, which comes with terraced setbacks, recessed balconies, and textured dark metal panels, harkening to a mix of Art Deco inspiration and the industrial influence of the surrounding area.

Embry will offer approximately 7,000 square feet of shared amenity areas. Among these include an open-air deck complemented by a fire pit, a dual indoor/outdoor fitness facility, a golf putting zone, and a dedicated lounge for residents.

The property offers proximity to several public transit options. These encompass the Route 20 southeast bus stops at Madison and Aberdeen, Route 8 to the east at Halsted and Madison, and rail services via the Green and Pink Lines at Morgan station to the northeast. Alternatively, the Blue Line is accessible just to the south at Racine station.

McHugh Construction has served as the general contractor. As of now, Sulo Development anticipates a full completion by the end of this year.

  1. Wow that penthouse pool is —chefs kiss—

  2. If I were all powerful, I would have every empty lot, every surface parking and every strip mall on the south and west sides replaced with this kind of development.
