An alteration and renovation permit has been approved for an existing property at 2619 N Kimball Avenue in the Logan Square neighborhood. The project will convert the four-unit residential apartment building into a five-unit building, with an additional dwelling unit in the front basement. The project’s owner is David Payne.

Jesse McGrath, the listed architect of record, will oversee the property’s redesign. The project includes mechanical, electrical, and plumbing modifications as per the plans.

Though the permit does not detail parking provisions, the location has access to public transportation. The site is near the Logan Square station on the Blue Line, a seven-minute walk east. Several bus routes also service the area, such as Route 82 one block south at Kimball & Wrightwood. Other nearby bus lines include Routes 56, 74, and 76.

Simple Home Builders Inc. is the general contractor for the renovation. The reported cost for the renovation and conversion is $300,000. Currently, there is no announced estimated completion date.
