A construction permit has been approved for a retail development at 2400 W 24th Street in Marshall Square. The one-story masonry structure will serve as a new drive-thru Dunkin’ Donuts outlet, whose listed owner is Sanjeev Khatau.
The project’s architect of record has been listed as Nick G. Scarlatis. According to the filing details, the new Dunkin’ venue will be a Type III-B masonry construction with a masonry trash enclosure. However, further design specifics such as the exterior material, the interior layout, or specific architectural features have yet to be available.
While no parking details have been given, the drive-thru nature of the development and the property size suggest that ample surface parking will be included. As for public transit, the location is within distance of numerous bus stops. The closest service for Route 49 is at the adjacent intersection of Western & 24th Street. Within a ten-minute walk is additional service for Routes 21, X49, and 60, as well as the Pink Line’s Western Station to the north.
The project’s general contracting duties have been assigned to Osiris Construction Inc. The filing’s listed construction cost is reported to be $250,000, though no other details regarding its timeline are known.

Too short. And banal.
Agreed. Should be a 5 story Dunkin with double drive thru lanes.
Why does the city of Chicago still permit drive-thrus at all? Very few things are worse for vibrant, safe, walkable neighborhoods. It’s not the 1960s anymore, we’re not trying to compete with the suburbs by becoming more like them centered around the car.
