A permit was approved earlier this week for a new three-story residential building at 4950 S Michigan Avenue in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood. The owner is listed as Amy Chin and plans indicate this project will yield three total units, each with a rear open porch. Additionally, the permits include a detached three-car garage. The development will replace a vacant lot.

Gary Wands was listed as the architect of record. Plans indicate a masonry facade although drawings and renderings have yet to be disclosed.

Future residents will find bus service for Route 29 at 5000 S State via an eight-minute walk west. The CTA Green Line can also be accessed nearby at the 51st Street station via an eight-minute walk southeast. There are many retail, dining, and entertainment options in the vicinity, many of which are located within walking distance along E 51st Street.

Allbright Construction LLC will act as the general contractor for the $450,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
