Construction is now at the third level for a five-story residential building at 913 W School Street in Lake View. Developer Hageman Group plans for a total of 22 apartments, comprised of four studios, eight one-bedrooms, eight two-bedrooms, and two three-bedrooms. Four of the units will have balconies, and another six with terraces.
Studio Dwell is behind the masonry contemporary design, which involves a concrete exterior on the ground floor, topped by three floors of brick, then the remaining floor encased in metal paneling. The floor-to-ceiling windows will be stacked in dynamic patterns. There will also be vegetation planted along the ground floor and also around the rooftop terraces.
Bus transit for Route 22 can be found half a block east at School & Clark, while Belmont station offers L service for the Red, Purple, and Brown Lines just one block south. On site will be parking for 12 vehicles and storage for eight bikes.
Apex Construction is serving as general contractor, with work reported to cost $2.5 million. It is unknown when construction is expected to complete.
