A permit was approved earlier this week for a new two-story residential building at 4922 South Forrestville Avenue in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood. Red Van Construction is listed as the owner and plans indicate this project will yield two total units, each with rear wooden decks. The development will be accompanied by a two-vehicle private masonry garage. The development will replace a vacant lot.
Charles E Schwartz is listed as the architect of record for this project. While there aren’t any further details available at this time, the permit states that this is a masonry building.
Future residents will find that transportation is readily accessible with the nearest bus service available for Route 3 at the King Drive & 50th Street stop via a six-minute walk south. The CTA Green Line can also be found at the 51st station via a 10-minute walk southwest. There is plenty of retail and dining options in the vicinity, many of which are located within walking distance along Martin Luther King Drive.
Keaney Construction Inc will act as the general contractor for the $650,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
