A permit was approved just yesterday for a new three-story residential building at 519 E Bowen Avenue in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood. Metropole Holdings LLC is listed as the owner and plans indicate this project will yield three total units, each with rear steel porches and an egress staircase, as well as a concrete patio and a private three-car masonry garage. The development will replace a vacant lot.

Charles E Schwart is listed as the architect of record for this project. While there aren’t any further details available at this time, the permit states that this is a masonry building.

Transportation is readily accessible with the nearest bus service for Route 3 at the King Drive & 42nd Street via a six-minute walk west of the property site. The CTA Green Line can be found at the 47th station via a four-minute walk northwest. The planned property is near green space with both the 42nd Street Garden and a local dog park within a three-minute walk. There are also many local businesses and food options available on nearby S Martin Luther King Drive.

Metropole Holdings LLC will act as the general contractor for the $300,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
