A permit was approved yesterday for a new five-story mixed-use building to be located at 2219 N Clybourn Avenue in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The owner is listed as 2219 Clybourn LLC, and plans indicate this project will yield 12 total dwelling units on the second through fifth floors. Each unit will be outfitted with a rear balcony and a metal porch. The first floor will feature two retail spaces and a rear garage. The development will replace a previous structure on the site.

Victor Drapszo is listed as the architect of record. At the time of this writing, no drawings or renderings have been disclosed.

The closest bus service available is Route 74 and can be found at Fullerton & Ashland via a six-minute walk northeast. The CTA Brown and Purple Lines can be accessed at the Armitage station via an 18-minute walk southeast.

There is an abundance of retail and dining options steps away from the planned project along N Clybourn Avenue.

Ronan Construction LLC will act as the general contractor for the $1.6 million construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.

  1. We haven’t seen the renderings yet but it seems like a nice natural densification replacing a building that was clearly almost never the right density in the first place.
