Last week, construction permits were issued for a new three-story residential building at 6359 S Ellis Avenue in Woodlawn. Owner Saheed Tepede has planned three dwellings, each with a private rooftop deck space, as well as a three-car frame garage. Prior to construction, this property was occupied by an empty lot.
Charles E. Schwartz is the listed architect of record. No drawings or renderings have been published, though the filing description has stated that the main structure will be masonry.
Beyond the on-site parking, those looking to board Route 63 will find bus service via a two-minute walk north to 63rd Street & Ellis. Access to Route 4 can be found at Cottage Grove & 64th Street via 10-minute walk west.
Any resident looking to board the CTA L Green Line will find Cottage Grove station via an eight-minute walk northwest. Metra service is also in the area, with 63rd Street via a 14-minute walk east.
With Kat Properties NG LLC as the general contractor behind the $900,000 construction, no completion timeline has yet been announced.
