Construction permits have been issued for a three-story, three-unit residential building set for 2135 N Lakewood Avenue in Lincoln Park. Barrett Homes is the listed owner, whose plans also consist of a basement, a rooftop deck, front balconies, and a full-height rear staircase. The new construction is set to replace a three-story post-modern style building.

Christopher Boehm of 360 Design Studio is the architect of record. Despite the design having not yet been revealed, multiple masonry contractors suggest a stone or brick facade.

Residents will have access to bus transit for Route 73 at Racine & Clybourn/Courtland, a seven-minute walk southeast. Also nearby are stops for Route 9, available at Ashland & Webster via a 10-minute walk west. Meanwhile, CTA L trains for the Brown and Purple Lines can be boarded at Armitage station via a 12-minute walk southeast. Those looking to board the Metra will find Clybourn station via a 16-minute walk southwest.

Despite its location in a primarily residential neighborhood, the property is within walking distance of the Lincoln Yards megadevelopment, which should rise in the next decade and spawn large-scale developments in the surrounding area. Various retail and dining venues are also along Clybourne Avenue.

Barrett Homes is also serving as general contractor for the $778,350 project. A full construction timeline is not currently available.
